What we did
On this villa refurbishment in Vale do Lobo, carried out in 2026, Master's Touch took the interior surfaces through to the final coat: plasterboard lining, a plaster-style skim coat on the walls, painting of walls and ceilings and, last of all, doors and wardrobes prepared and painted. The progress photographs show the starting point: brick walls with chases and setting-out marks.
Some of the walls were lined in plasterboard, which gives true, flat planes and a sound base for the finish. Over the walls we applied a plaster-style skim coat: thin coats, trowelled smooth, leaving a flat, continuous surface without the ripples that raking light gives away.
In this house that matters. The living room is double height, with a mezzanine and glass balustrade, and a sliding door to the pool that throws strong side light across the walls. On tall, well-lit walls, any flaw in the substrate shows at every hour of the day.
Walls and ceilings were then painted: white in the living room, a cream shade elsewhere. The doors and wardrobes were given their own preparation before painting, so the finish is just as even on the joinery and sits well with the walls around it.
For the owner, the result is a house finished consistently from room to room by one team, from the plasterboard to the colour. One team also means a single point of contact for the whole project.
