What we did
This villa façade painting project in Lagoa, carried out in 2026, started from a condition the photographs make plain: worn render, flaking paint and, along the outside passage, the wall coming away above the tiled dado. The images published here were taken before and during the work.
Before any paint, the façades were pressure washed to remove dirt and anything no longer bonded to the substrate. The surface was then consolidated with CIN R-700 resin, which restores cohesion to weakened render and prepares it for the layers that follow.
Next came a reinforced skim coat: A96 mortar with glass-fibre mesh embedded in it. The mesh spreads the stresses in the wall and reduces the risk of cracks working their way back to the surface. The progress photographs show the façade already levelled behind the scaffolding, ready for paint.
The finish was a full CIN paint system over a new, continuous substrate, so the colour now sits on a surface that is sound all the way through.
For the owner, what changes is more than the colour. It is a façade rebuilt layer by layer, with a consolidated, reinforced base beneath the paint, instead of fresh paint over render that was still deteriorating. It is the difference between painting a house and restoring a façade.

Lagoa is a town in the western Algarve with a centre of low houses, courtyards and narrow streets; from this house's courtyard you can see the church tower. On façades with worn render, damp and salt carried in from the coast push the paint off from behind, and repainting on top only puts the problem off. In the same town we have also worked on two public buildings: the Municipal Library and the Civil Protection warehouse.
